Stainless Steel, Anodized Aluminum,
Synthetic Ruby Ball, 18K Gold, 24K Gold
|I made these two bracelets in memory of my
parents, who both died in 1994.
In making these bracelets I used "Gematria", a Kabbalistic numbers game, often used to explain, and/or make connections between words, phrases and/or entire passages of the Torah, Talmud, etc.
Every letter of the Hebrew alphabet has a numerical value. Because the letters have a numnerical value, so do words. The Hebrew word for life "Chai" has the numerical value of 18.
In each bracelet there are 9 rivets. 2 x 9 = 18 rivet heads
Two parents, two bracelets, 18 rivets total
The bracelets are "lively", because the balls in them are never motionless when worn. The balls can spin around in the channels of the bracelets.
